William E. Yasnovitch, Jr., 72, of Nicholson, PA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at home. His wife, the former Eileen D. Oakley passed away on February 27, 2010. Born August 20, 1943 in Simpson, PA, he was the son of the late William E., Sr. and Anita Bianco Yasnovitch. He was a graduate of Prompton Lakes High School in New Jersey and had been a self employed glass blower. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed photography. He is survived by three sons: William Matichak, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Peckville, PA, David Matichak of Longwood, FL and Brian Matichak and wife Maria of Passaic, NJ; one daughter: Madelyn "Joy" Bognatz and husband Edward, Jr. of Clifford Township, PA; a daughter-in-law: Amie Yasnovitch of New Milford, PA; one sister: Anita Roche and husband Butch of Waymart, PA; eleven grandchildren: Melissa Scalzo, Nicole Black, Kateri Matichak, David Paul Matichak, Nathaniel Matichak, Angela Matichak, Gina Coira, Edward Bognatz, III., Courtney Bognatz, Anya and Dimitri Yasnovitch; three great grandchidren: Mariah Lyon, Firora Scalzo and Julian Black; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one son: Jason Yasnovitch. The funeral was held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Rev. William Hagenbuch, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Harford, PA, officiating. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
