William H. Smith, Sr., 79, of Nicholson, PA, died Friday, November 29, 2013 at Regional Hospital, Scranton, PA. He was the husband of the former Patricia Dilley. Born July 22, 1934 in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late William J. and Elizabeth Gesner Smith. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a truck driver for Hunterdon Industrial Gases, Inc. in Frenchtown, NJ. He is survived by two daughters: Peggy Pierman and husband Chris of Cornville, TN and Nancy Bennett and husband Rick of Churubusco, NY; two sons: Joseph Smith and wife Susan of Springville, PA and William Smith, Jr.; two sisters: Anne Marion of Galleon, OH and Irene Jones of Mount Pocono, PA; one brother: Frank Smith of Sergeantsville, NJ; one step brother: Theodore Smith; four Grandchildren. As per Mr. Smith's request no services were held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
