William J. Buddy O'Rourke, III., age 58, of Waymart, PA., and formerly of New Brunswick, NJ., died Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2009 at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. His longtime companion is Debra Meszler of Waymart. Born November 18, 1950 in New Brunswick, NJ., he is the son of Patricia (Smith) O'Rourke of Honesdale, PA. and the late William J. O'Rourke, Sr. He attended St. Peter's High School in New Brunswick, NJ and received his high school diploma through the Marine Corps. He was a Marine Corps veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed handyman for 40 years and of the Roman Catholic faith. He is survived by one daughter: Christie Jean O'Rourke of Waymart, PA.: one son: Alan O'Rourke of South Carolina; two brothers: Michael O'Rourke and Frederick O'Rourke both of Honesdale, PA.; nieces, nephews and cousins.A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 416 Church Street, Honesdale, PA. Cremation took place from Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA.
