William R. Holbert, 89, formerly of the East Mountain section of Scranton, PA, died Friday, June 6, 2025 at the New Jersey Veterans Home, Paramus, NJ, after an illness.

Born September 7, 1935 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Esther Bohn Holbert.

He is survived by one sister: Esther Ann Maddamma of Montvale, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph and Thomas Holbert.

Private funeral services were held from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA.
