William M. Field, 70, of Blakely, PA, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA, after an illness. Born December 12, 1946 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Marcus E. Field and the late Esther L. Bailey Nocera. He was the step son of the late Vito Nocera. He retired from the U.S. Army where he served from 1966 to 1985. He was a awarded the Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He is survived by one brother: Vito V. Nocera of Blakely, PA; one sister: Vivian Waldeck of Massapequa Park, NY. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Jerry Nocera. Inurnment was held at Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Arrangements were entrusted to Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Carbondale, PA.
