William C. "Bud" DeNike, Jr., 84, of Clifford, PA, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, following a short illness. His wife of 63 years is the former Jacqueline Race. They were married February 5, 1961.
Born January 4, 1940 in Norwalk, CT, he was the son of the late William C., Sr. and Mildred Bobbins DeNike.
Bud graduated from Ridgefield Connecticut High School. After graduation, he joined his father's plumbing and heating business. In 1968, Bud and Jackie moved to Florida with their growing family. In 1973, Bud started his own plumbing and heating business. In 1979 the family moved to Pennsylvania where he expanded his business and family. Retiring in 2010, the business is now run by his sons.
Bud was a member of the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company. He was extremely proud of every one of his children and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is also survived by five daughters: Robin Mizerak (Dave), Wendy Hartman (Dave), Jill Tomaine (Mark), Stephanie Blumenthal (Dave) and Dr. Jennifer DeNike (Markus), three sons: Rick DeNike (Lisa), Capt. William DeNike, III. (Heather) and Teddy DeNike; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one sister: Janet Denis and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son: Dennis DeNike in 2011 and a sister: Joan DeNike in 2017.
In memory of Bud, a gathering was held Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Bud's home in Clifford, PA.
Arrangements were under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
Donations in Bud's name were made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township, PA 18411.
