William P. Burdick, 78, of Sayre, PA., and formerly of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday morning, November 20, 2008 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born January 24, 1930 in Waymart, PA., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Ruth Kizer Burdick.Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Security Guard for the Morristown High School in New Jersey and was an ambulance driver in New Jersey. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed fishing, sight seeing and watching airplanes. He also raised chickens and peddled eggs. He is survived by five sons: Kenneth Burdick of Taylor, PA., Harold Burdick of Parker, PA., William Burdick, Jr. of Towanda, PA., David Burdick of Towanda, PA. and Harry Crockett of Tunkhannock, PA.; seven daughters: Cathy Huber of Binghamton, NY., Ruth Ann Sands of Scranton, PA., Peggy Smith of Mehoopany, PA., Margaret Teribury, of Susquehanna, PA., Bobbie Jo Sharts of Sugar Hallow, PA., Laura Burdick of Towanda, PA. and Donna Brown of Towanda, PA.; one sister: Ann Pells of Drums, PA. two brothers: Clayton Burdick of Kyle, TX. and Donald Burdick of Carbondale, PA.; his ex-wife: Ruth Mae Russell of Towanda, PA.; one half sister: Betty Deburns of Florida; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Nancy; two sisters: Carol Kretchick and Louise ; one brother: Benjamin Burdick; his ex-wife: Sally Burdick.The funeral was held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale. Interment, Scott Valley Cemetery, Montdale, PA.
