Willa J. Brown, 78, of West Warwick, RI., died Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry, RI.Born August 29, 1930 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Ogburn) Matthews.She was former resident of Johnson City, NY. and had resided in West Warwick, RI. since 2006. She had been employed for many years as a leather cutter at the former Endicott Johnson Shoe Manufacturing Company in Johnson City, NY. She was a member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Johnson City, NY.She is survived by three sons: Steven H. Brown of Johnson City, NY., Ronald A. Brown, Sr. and Donald R. Brown both of West Warwick, RI.She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.A graveside service was held Friday, May 15, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Sandy Banks Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA., with Rev. C. Albert Wagaman, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Archbald, PA., officiating.Arrangements were under the direction of the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
