Wesley V. "Butch" Mack, Jr., 70, of Scott Township, PA, died Sunday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, the former Diane M. Rizzo. They were married on September 30, 1978.

Born January 22, 1953 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Wesley and Virginia Devine Mack.

Butch was a graduate of Lakeland High School and Wilkes-Barre Area Vocational-Technical School. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, Butch was employed as a proud union sheet metal worker with Local 44 in Wilkes Barre for over 40 years.

A proud father and grandfather, Butch loved visiting his children and grandchildren in Colorado. He was an animal lover who enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood cats. He was a driven horseshoe enthusiast and played competitively for many years.

The family would like to thank the staff at Geisinger CMC, for their compassionate and tireless efforts during his illness.

He is survived by two children: Christopher Mack and wife, Kristen of Colorado Springs, CO and Anna Mack and partner, Sean Berkery of Colorado Springs, CO; three grandchildren: Raven, Logan and Tommy; three sisters: Debbie Hameza and husband, Bill of Clifford Township, PA, Robin Roberts and fiancé, Tom Aguiar of Peabody, MA and Rebecca Mack of Clarks Summit, PA; three brothers: Jeffrey Mack of Duryea, PA, Richard Mack of Taylor, PA, and Michael Mack and wife, Linda of Jermyn, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Rev. Bonnie Resseguie, officiating. Interment with military honors, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.

Pallbearers: Sean Berkery, Bryan Wech, Chris Rude, Brian Zang, Adam Richards and Marcus Rashaad.

Viewing hours were held Thursday, October, 26, 2023 from 4-7 p.m.
