Warren C. "Whitey" White, 80, Greenfield Township, PA, died Wednesday morning, October 15, 2014 at home after an illness. Born in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Rupert and Rhoena Sprague White. After the untimely death of his father, he had been sent to live at the Masonic orphanage in Elizabethtown, where he received his formal education. He later worked for General Electric in New Jersey and Pompey Motors in Clifford as a mechanic. In 1973, he opened White's Garage on Main Street in Clifford, which is now run by his son, Ricky. In his younger years, he enjoyed square dancing and snowmobiling. He is survived by two children: Ricky White of Clifford, PA and Robin Mazza and husband Chris of Greenfield Township, PA; four grandchildren: Jaime Semanision and husband Trevor Minor, Kyle Semanision and wife Alex, Christopher Mazza and Zoe White; three great grandchildren: Aubry Semanision, Skout and Gunnar Minor; one sister: Joyce Martin of Arizona; two brothers: Norman White of Waymart, PA and John Clifford White of Clifford, PA.; his former wife: Sandra White Peters of Greenfield Township, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Rupert; and an infant sister: Amy. The funeral was held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 12:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with Pastor Eric Watkins, lay minister of the Clifford United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA. Pallbearers: Ricky White, Willard Oakley, Rob Davis, Joseph Machell, Christopher and Andrew Mazza.
