Walter Rick Lewandowski, age 68, of Clifford Township, Pa, died Friday morning, March 21, 2014, at home following a short illness. Born August 8, 1945 in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late Walter R., Sr. and Elizabeth (Mott) Lewandowski. After graduating high school, Rick attended college for one year before entering the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Elk Mountain VFW Post 848, Lenox, Pa. Throughout his career, Rick worked as a mechanic, carpenter and tile layer for various businesses in the Clifford area before his retirement. He also enjoyed hunting. He is survived by one sister: Patricia Lysak and husband Daniel of State College, PA; one brother: Gerald Lewandowski and wife Victoria of Clifford Township, PA; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews As per his request, Rick was cremated and a memorial service with military honors by the Elk Mountain VFW Post 848, was held Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 6:00 pm from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford.
