Victoria A. Opeil-Witko, age 54, of Tunkhannock, PA. and formerly of Greenfield Township, PA., died Monday afternoon, March 24, 2003 at the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale, PA. after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born January 20, 1949 in Bridgeport, CT. She was the daughter of Anne (Massi) Opeil, Waterbury, CT. and the late Joseph Opeil. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, Royal, PA. She earned an associates degree at Bridgeport Community College. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter. Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. She is survived by one daughter: Ann Marie Witko of Greenfield Township, PA.; one son: Daniel J. Witko of Jermyn, PA.; one brother: Stephen Opeil of Woodbury, CT.; 1 Granddaughter; Nieces Nephews The funeral was held Thursday, March 27, 2003 from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Pius X Church, Rt. 106, Royal, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor. Interment, Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Friends called Thursday, March 27, 2003 from 9-10 am.
