Veronica Aunt Ronnie Mancuso, of Carbondale Township, PA., died Monday afternoon, February 13, 2012 at the Abington Manor, Clarks Summit, PA. She was the wife of the late John Jake Mancuso who died on June 22, 1984.
Born in Carbondale, PA., she was the youngest of 10 children born to the late William and Josephine Dadurkevich Saldonis.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She loved sitting on her back porch doing her word-find puzzles, watching the birds in the birdfeeders, and tending her garden. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She was the matriarch of her family whom she loved spending time with.
The family would like to thank the staff of Abington Manor, VNA Hospice and Dr. Ruppenthal for the excellent care they gave.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews including the youngest great-great niece, Shea, who brought joy to her life in the time she spent with her.
She was preceded in death by five sisters: Mary Corsaletti, Anna Larkin, Margaret Migdall, Nellie Healy and Helen Brady; four brothers: John, Joseph, Pete and William Saldonis
The funeral was held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Robert Mancuso, Michael Watson, John, Daniel, Joseph and Matt Larkin. Friends called Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 4-7 PM.
