Veronica M. Chiles, 86, of Clarks Summit, PA., died Thursday morning, July 14, 2011 at VNA Hospice, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of James B. Chiles, who died in 1996.
Born in Shamokin, PA., she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Ciebera) Mick.
She was a graduate of Coal Township High School and was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of St. Theresa's Church, New Cumberland, PA., the Lemoyne Civic Club, Lemoyne, PA., and the Harrisburg Hospital Nurses Alumni Association. She was a former resident of The Villages of Lady Lake, FL. and was a member of their Tiki Bar Association.
She is survived by three children: James B. Chiles. Jr. and wife Kathy of Duncannon, PA., John Chiles and wife Linda of Wayne, PA. and Susan Price and husband Perry of Greenfield Township, PA.; a daughter in law: Mary Chiles of The Villages at Lady Lake, FL.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son: Michael Chiles; six siblings: Frank, Sophie, Helen, Florence, Kate and Mary.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the Parthemore Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA., with Rev. Louis Ogden, pastor of Seven Sorrows B.V.M. Church, Middletown, PA., officiating. Inurnment, Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.
Friends called Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
Memorial contributions were sent in Veronica's name to the Hasselhuhn Nursing Scholarship, Harrisburg Hospital, 111 S. Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
