Travis R. Hughes, 51, of Clarks Summit, PA, died Sunday, February 11, 2024 after a short battle with cancer at the Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Karen L. Warner Hughes. They were married October 5, 2002.

Born May 15, 1972 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Dorothy Ephault Luther.

Travis was a graduate of West Scranton High School and became a master plumber and HVAC specialist. He owned and operated Hughes' Plumbing in Maryland for a few years and when he and his family moved back to Pennsylvania, he worked for Geisinger CMC Hospital.

He had a love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, boating, camping and golfing. He was an avid do it yourselfer around his home, Red Sox and Patriots fan, enjoyed building birdhouses and loved raising chickens.

His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially the time they spent outdoors along with their dog Raven.

He is also survived by three children: Brynn, Cardin and Trey Hughes, all at home; one brother: Preston Hughes and wife, Tanya of Clarks Summit, PA; three step brothers: one brother-in-law: Douglas Warner and wife, Helen Keplinger of Napa, CA; three nephews: Shaine and Kavan Hughes and Emerson Warner; several aunts, uncles, cousins and two very close friends: Chris Cichocki and Kevin Kerrigan.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother: Christian Hughes.

A memorial service was held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA.

A viewing was held Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
