Thomas E. Salansky, 88, of Gibson Township, PA, died on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, the former Lois L. Canfield. They were married on August 11, 1956.

Born December 30, 1934 in Gibson Township, PA, he was the last surviving child of the late William and Anna Slebodnik Salansky.

Tom was a graduate of Harford High School and served in the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Germany during the Cold War. He and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm for most of their lives.

Tom loved working his farm, playing baseball, hunting, and golf. In his later years, he enjoyed playing cards and visiting with his family and friends.

He is survived by four children: Edward Salansky and partner, Carmen Cervantes, Lori Eshelman and husband, Thomas, Albert Salansky and wife, Georgia and Lisa Salansky and husband Jim, all of Gibson Township, PA; four grandchildren: Joshua Eshelman and partner, Michael Venn, Shanna Eshelman, Zakk Finkenbinder, Nikki Crary and husband, Ryan, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by seven sisters: Mary Stumpf, Helen Soltis, Eleanor Sholtis, Evelyn "Sadie" Salansky, Ann Berish, Emma O'Hop and Eva Salansky; four brothers: John, William, George and Joseph Salansky.

The funeral with military honors was held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at noon from Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Pastor John Shaffer, officiating.

The family received friends on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. A luncheon was held at the Harford Fire Hall, 142 Fair Hill Road. Harford, following the service.
