Thomas J. Llewellyn, Jr., age 80, of Harford, PA. died Thursday evening, December 18, 2003 at Endless Mountain Hospital, Montrose, PA. His wife is the former Evelyn Tetlock.
Born July 7, 1923 in Peckville, PA. He was the son of the late Thomas J. Sr. and Margaret (Jones) Llewellyn.
He was a member of the Christadelphian Church, Glendale, PA. He was a graduate of Pittston schools. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Winged Arrow AP 170. During his 3 years of service he received the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and Victory Medal. He was also a professional boxer while serving in the Navy.
He was a self-empolyed tile setter and was known in the Poconos for his expert tile setting. He was a master fly fisherman. While fishing in the Lackawaxen River, his photo was taken for Cabelas catalog which is a hunting and fishing sports catalog. He spent many years in Florida with with wife Evelyn.
He was a loving and caring man who will be missed by his family.
He is survived by one daughter: Joy Jackson of Lenox Township, PA.; 1 Grandson; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Evan Rhys Llewellyn and Robert Llewellyn; two sisters: Margaret Breymeier and Leona Lynch
Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Inurnment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home, Dundaff and Main Streets, Clifford, PA.
