Theresa J. Swinarski, 63, of Richmondale, PA., died Wednesday morning, December 15, 2010 at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, PA., after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Peter Swinarski.
Born July 29, 1947 in Scranton, PA., she was the daughter of the late Sidney J. and Rose (Christopher) Rushworth, Sr.
Prior to her illness, she was employed for 26 years as a sewing machine operator at the Gentex Corporation in Simpson, PA. She loved camping and spending time with her family at Secluded Acres Campgrounds in Lakeville, PA.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed. She cherished the time spend with her family and was a generous person always giving to others and never expecting anything in return.
She is survived by one daughter: Rose Peters and husband Brian of Clarks Summit, PA.; two grandchildren: Kaitlyn Peters and Brian Peters, Jr.; one sister: Diane Rushworth of Scranton, PA.; 9 nieces and nephews; 25 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Sidney J. Rushworth, Jr.; one sister: Betty Ann Puza.
The funeral was held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 8:30 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. William D. Campbell, senior priest. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
