Theresa Sloan-Zavislak, 83, Carbondale, PA., died Tuesday evening, October 25, 2005 at the Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale. She was the wife of Michael W. Zavislak who died July 22, 2005.
Born April 26, 1922 in New York, NY., she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Anna Albright Sloan..
She attended St. Rose of Lima Church in Carbondale. She had a great love for painting and fine arts. She was an artist who won many blue ribbons and awards for her art work. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her best friend Tootsie.
She is survived by two sons: Robert W. Zavislak and wife Susan and William J. Zavislak and wife Patricia all of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Eileen Tiedemann of Salt Point, NY.; 8 grandchildren: Laura Mauro, Michael, Robert and William Zavislak, Jennifer Mutcherson, Melissa Zavislak, Lyndsay Perez and Brian Rutherford; 4 Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Claire M. Sloan; one brother: William E. Sloan
The funeral was held Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 9:30 am with a blessing service in the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. William Campbell, assistant pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, officiating. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Friends called Friday from 6-8 pm.
