Theresa Jura age 79, of 41 Upper Powderly Street, Carbondale, died Saturday afternoon, May 25, 2002 at the Mid Valley Hospice Unit, Peckville after a brief illness. She was the wife of Wlliam W. Jura who died October 29, 1997.
Born November 15, 1922 in Oklahoma she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (Stafforini) Vergari.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of the Ben Franklin High School, Carbondale.
She was a seamstress for over 35 years at Mussari Dress Factory, Carbondale.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Kelsch and Marie Tonkin of Carbondale, PA.; three sons: Raymond Jura of Apalachin, NY., Gerard Jura of Carbondale, PA. and Gene Jura of Tioga Center, NY.; two sisters: Pauline Meters of West Chester, PA. and Mary Shoener of Carbondale, PA.; 13 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by one brother: Gino Vergari and one sister: Catherine Vergari
The funeral was held Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 10:30 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc. Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with mass at 11:00 am from St. Rose Of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by the Rev. Kevin Mulhern, pastor. Interment, Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
Viewing was held Monday, May 27, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9.
