Theresa Bianco Bendersky, 86, of Carbondale, PA., died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of the late Michael Bendersky who died January 21, 1984. Born May 13, 1924 in Vandling, PA., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Angeline (Ferraro) Bianco. Prior to her retirement, she has been employed in the local garment industry as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She is survived by four children: Michael Bendersky and wife Ann of Vienna, VA., Diane Calabro Moody and husband Edward of Clarks Summit, PA., Dr. Joseph Bendersky and wife Carmen of Richmond, VA. and Ronald Bendersky and wife Diane of Ann Arbor, MI.; four grandsons: Michael Bendersky and wife Janice, Robert Bendersky and wife Carrie, Jo-Jo Calabro and wife Kathy and Jeffrey Calabro and wife Heather; six granddaughters: Michelle Bendersky, Dr. Karen Bendersky and husband Dr. Jason Stover, Nicole Thompson and husband John, Amy Mederios and husband Steve, Katy Coffelt and husband Michael and Lori Beth Bendersky; three great grandsons: Anthony Coffelt, Jeffrey Calabro, II. and John Thompson; eight great granddaughters: Kendra and Karissa Louderback, Karinda Caryl, Bobbie Jo Bendersky, Amanda and Cassandra Calabro, Kelli Coffelt and Kayla Mollat; one great great grandson: Michael Benson; one sister: Christine Siciliano of Long Island, NY.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Louis, Dominic, John, Joseph, Samuel and Frank Bianco; six sisters: Rose Amadio, Carmella Scheigle, Angeline Pandolfo, Margaret Barbarek, Virginia Matechak and Mary Mancuso. The funeral was held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM from the Edward A. Wade Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Morris Place at Terrace Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Msgr. David L. Tressler, pastor. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City, PA. Pallbearers: Walter Martzen, Jeffrey Calabro, Dr. Jason Stover, Jack Thompson, Rob Bendersky and Quinn Connelly. Friends called Friday, December 17, 2010 from 2-4 7-9 PM.
