Terry Dean "Slippery" Sanauskas, 67, of Lenox Township, PA, died unexpectedly Friday morning, April 11, 2025 at home.
Born June 1, 1957 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Arneta Brainard Sanauskas.
Terry was a 1975 graduate of Mountain View High School and had been a lifelong truck driver for various companies including Novitch International Service of Nicholson, True Transport of Newark, NJ, K.J. Transportation of New York, and Calex of Moosic.
He loved his trips to the casino, enjoyed food and helping his friends at the Elk Diner. He will be fondly remembered as a thoughtful kind hearted soul by his family and friends.
He is survived by four sisters: Ann Corbin and husband, John, Jr. of Hop Bottom, PA, Brenda VanVleck of Lenox Township, PA, Shelley Kilmer and companion, Jim Grecco of Clifford, PA, and Dale Sanauskas and companion, Stephanie Hazelton of Shepherdstown, WV; two brothers: Gary Sanauskas and wife, Phyllis of Clifford, PA, and Brian Sanauskas of Kingsley, PA; and several nieces and nephews, including his god daughter, Tomika Barney and her husband, Dylan. He enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and great nephews, including Tia, Paizley and Landyn Barney whom he enjoyed teasing and playing jokes on when sharing time with them at family parties and holidays.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Penny Jo Sanauskas; and a brother-in-law: Tom VanVleck, whom he considered his best friend. Terry and Tom enjoyed spending time together working in the garage, driving truck and watching MeTV.
The funeral was held Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, with Rev. Bonnie Resseguie, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.
Pallbearers: Brian Sanauskas, Gary Sanauskas, John Corbin, Jr., John Corbin, III., Dylan Barney, Jim Grecco and Dan Caruso.
Friends called Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 3-5 p.m.
In memory of Terry's wonderful sense of humor, the family has asked to share a laugh with a friend.
