Teresa Musial Liuzzo, 90, of Mayfield, PA, passed away July 23, 2026 of an unexpected illness at Regional Hospital of Scranton, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
Born in Carbondale, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Krajewski) Musial, Teresa was a lifelong resident of Mayfield. She graduated from Mayfield High School, class of 1953. On April 12,1958, Teresa became the wife of John Liuzzo. The couple had 6 children. They were married for 43 years. She was devout Catholic and member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Mayfield. She was a current member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.
She is survived by children: Kimberly Lane (Bruce), John (Marianne), Jerry (Jill), Jill Wormuth (Artie), Kenny (Julie), and Kevin, with whom she resided. She had 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was known as “Babcia” to her great-grandchildren.
Teresa and John were always known for entertaining friends and family for holidays and special occasions. This included recently celebrating Teresa’s 90th Birthday with family and friends at her home.
The family is appreciative of Teresa’s granddaughter, Kelsey Lane, who provided continuous care to her over the last 2 years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Davis for the many years of care he provided to Teresa. They would also like to thank the nurses of Regional Hospital of Scranton’s telemetry unit and cardiac cath lab, Great Valley Cardiology, and Dr. Lindsay Smith for their care.
The funeral will be held Monday, July 27, 2026 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, to be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Mosley, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
Viewing hours will be held Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
