Teresa E. Bonacci, 89, of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday evening, January 1, 2009 at Carbondale Nursing Home, Carbondale. She was the wife of the late Carmino J. Bonacci, who died March 27, 1985. Born September 19, 1919 in Carbondale, PA., She was the daughter of the late Guy and Angela (Sirianni) DeFazio.She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and she was a self employed hairdresser for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society.She was a classic Italian mother whose life revolved around her family. She was a terrific cook and baker and her family and friends were always welcome in her home. She treated her customers like they were her family often sharing with them some of her homemade foods. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially with her sisters. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.Teresa's children would like to thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Home, Dr. Frank Moro and Dr. Tamrat Bekele for the compassionate care they provided to their mother. She is survived by one son: Carmino Bonacci and wife Margaret of Orlando, FL.; three daughters: Antoinette Ryan and husband Matthew of Greenfield Township, PA., Mary Cicio and husband Nicholas of Mayfield, PA. and Anne Marie MacGregor and husband William of Jermyn, PA; one brother: Anthony DeFazio of Carbondale, PA.; three sisters: Mary Bonacci of Virginia, Rose Connor of Clifford, PA. and Palma Tolerico of Carbondale, PA.; 12 grandchildren: Gina Cicio, Lisa Dolphin, Michael Cicio, Nicole Aftewicz, Matthew Ryan, Kristen Rude, William MacGregor, Kevin MacGregor, Tess Bonacci, Amy Ellowitz, Rebecca Barney and Scott Lee; 17 Great Grandchildren; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.She was preceded in death by two sisters: Ann Gallo and Philomena Turano.The funeral was held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Russell E. Motsay, pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
