Terence M. Terry Rosler, 64, of Carbondale, PA., died Tuesday morning, August 23, 2011 at Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA., after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife the former Nancy L. Ogborne. They were married on September 15, 1973.
Born September 24, 1946 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Jacob and Constance (McAndrew) Rosler.
He was a graduate of Fell Township High School class of 1964 and served for 35 years with the 109th infantry of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Over the years he had been employed as a supervisor with Owens Illinois in Pittston, PA. and Cross Engineering in Carbondale. He also drove school children for the Carbondale Area School District and worked at the Whites Crossing Sports Shop.
He was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Moxie Club and the American Legion, Albert H. Crane Post 221 both of Carbondale. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as riding his motorcycle. He had a passion for old and new hunting guns. Terry had the gift of gab and made friends wherever he went.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, nephew and Papa to his sweet little granddaughter, Caleigh who he adored. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
His loved ones are assured that God's promises for eternal life applied to Terry. He had accepted Christ's sacrifice and death on the cross as payment for his sins assuring him an eternal home in heaven.
He is survived by one son: Terry Rosler and wife Beth of Duke Center, PA.; one daughter: Melissa Rosler of Archbald, PA.; one granddaughter: Caleigh Rosler; one sister: Karen Rosler of Carbondale, PA.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Jack Rosler.
A memorial service was held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 4:00 PM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with his daughter in law, Rev. Beth Rosler, pastor of the Lighthouse Free Methodist Church of Eldred, PA., officiating.
Friends called Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 2-4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials were made to the family and were greatly appreciated.
