Stella Mroczka, 89, of Jermyn, PA., died Monday morning, October 29, 2007 at the Forest City Nursing Home, Forest City, PA., after an extended illness. She was the wife of Peter J. Mroczka who died May 24, 1986.
Born August 30, 1918 in Archbald, PA., she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine (DiPasquali) Mobilia. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Mayfield, PA., and its Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by three sons: Joseph Mroczka, Sr. and wife Jennie, Thomas Mroczka and wife Cathie and Robert Mroczka all of Jermyn, PA.; eight grandchildren: Joseph Mroczka, Jr., Joseph Mroczka, Paul Mroczka, Marlene Daniels and Susan Scalzo all of Jermyn, PA., Brian Mroczka of Carbondale, PA.; Kristine Russello of Sharpsburg, GA. and Gina Mroczka of Galloway, New Jersey; seven great grandchildren: Vincent and Sarah Mroczka, David Scalzo, Jr., Kaelyn and Thomas Gabriel Scalzo, Ashley and Alyssa Daniels; Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother: Charles Mobilia; two sisters: Carmella Yusavich and Rose Federico. The funeral was held Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 420 Hudson Street, Mayfield, PA., celebrated by the Rev. John J. Kulavich, pastor. Interment, Parish Cemetery, East Jermyn, PA.
Pallbearers: Matt and John Mroczka, Paul Strasburger, Arthur Pearlman, John Chadwick, Anthony Federico, David Scalzo and Joseph Russello. Honor Guard was provided by Scott Township, Jermyn and Mayfield Police Departments.
