Obituary

Stella A. Detterline, 76, of Carbondale, PA, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2016 at home. She was the wife of Warren T. Detterline, Sr. who died July 9, 2002. Born July 25, 1940 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. Bartosavage, Sr. and the late Margaret Vadala Rienzo. Stella was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, class of 1958 and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Her family and grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed spending time with family cooking and baking, Florida vacations and playing cards and bingo. She is survived by two daughters: Tama Granville and husband John of Greenfield Township, PA and Sherry Detterline and fianc Sean Osborne of Archbald, PA; a son: Warren T. Detterline, Jr. of Exton, PA; two grandchildren: Jenna Granville of Philadelphia, PA and Lucas Granville of Carbondale, PA; a sister: Donna Marie Rienzo of Marshalls Creek, PA; a brother: Frank X. Rienzo, III. of Carbondale, PA; a niece: Michaleena Rienzo of Carbondale, PA. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Charles P. Bartosavage, Jr. The funeral was held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Paul Fontanella, assistant pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Nicholas Granville, Jake Osborne, Daniel Hunter, John Stone and Louis Matoes. Friends called Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions were made in Stella's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Visitation at Funeral Home 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday, November 13, 2016 Carmine J. & Louis C.
