Stanley E. Mikalsen, 71, of New Milford, PA, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at home. Born November 2, 1946 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Signe Olsen Mikalsen. He was a former resident of Staten Island, NY and had been a retired self employed carpenter. He was a disabled veteran having served in the Army as a Captain during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 357, Hallstead, PA, was an avid hunter and enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by one daughter: Kristin Mikalsen of Sandefjord, Norway; one son: Karl Mikalsen of Bergen, Germany; one brother: Charlie Mikalsen of Staten Island, NY; one grandson: Levi Mikalsen Broughton of Sandefjord, Norway; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister: Sylvia Kennedy. Entombment, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
