Sophie J. Alexandrakos, 85, formerly of McAdoo, PA., died Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012 at the East Mountain Manor, Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the wife of the late Agesilaos Syl Alexandrakos who died in 1980. Born September 16, 1926 in Pittston, PA., she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Banos. She was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Wilkes Barre, PA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will always be remembered for her kind heart and her big beautiful smile. She is survived by three children: John Alexandrakos and wife Tina of Lansdale, PA., Elaine Covucci and husband David of Concord, MA and Mary Koko and husband F. William of Wayne, PA.; four granddaughters: Elena Alexandrakos, Maria Martin, Cristina and Alexandra Covucci; one great granddaughter: Callista Martin; one brother: Peter Banos and wife Maria of West Pittston, PA.; one sister: Evangeline Gabriel and husband George of Allentown, PA.; several nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her twin sister: Mary Economopoulos The funeral was held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 32 E. Ross Street, Wilkes-Barre, celebrated by Rev. George Dimopoulos, pastor. Interment, Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Pallbearers: David Weinfeld, John Alexandrakos, F. William Koko, Andrew Martin and David Covucci. Friends called Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. Louis C.
