Smoragda Kuttrubis age 92, formerly of 90 8th Avenue, Carbondale, died Monday morning, December 30, 2002 at the Carbondale Nursing Home. She was the wife of William Kuttrubis I, who died December 2, 1989.
Born June 5, 1910 in Smyrne, Turkey. She was the daughter of the late Speros and Elpiniki Isadour.
She was a member of the Annunciation Hellenic Greek Orthodox Church, Scranton. She worked side by side with her husband in their family run business, The Crystal Restaurant on Salem Avenue, Carbondale.
She was loved very much and will be greatly missed. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by one daughter: Mary Clemens of Olympia, WA.; two sons: Nicholas Kuttrubis and William Kuttrubis both of Carbondale, PA.; one brother: George Isadour of Athens, Greece; 8 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; Several nieces nephews in Greece
She was preceded in death by one son: Michael Kuttrubis; one sister: Elizabeth; one brother: Nicholas Isadour and a loving great grandson: Anthony Apostolico, III
The funeral was held Thursday, January 2, 2003 at 10:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with mass at 11:00 am in Annunciation Hellenic Greek Orthodox Church, 505 Washington Street, Scranton, celebrated by the Very Rev. Andrew Clark. Interment, Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
Viewing was held Wednesday, January 1, 2003 from 6-9. A parastas service was held at 7:00 pm.
