Shirley J. Lewis, 76, formerly of Damascus, PA and a resident of the Creekside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Carbondale, PA, died Saturday evening, December 13, 2014 at the nursing home. She is the wife of James L. Lewis, also of Carbondale.
Born July 15, 1938 in Equinunk, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lindsay and Ruth Rake Cole.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters: Tracie Miller of Damascus, PA, Susan Bates and Cathy Kovaleski of Narrowsburg, NY; three sons: Lynn Robert Cole of Beach Lake, PA, Gene Alton Keesler of White Mills, PA and Kenneth Allen Keesler of Franklin, PA; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters; seven brothers; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother. Shirley's request was to be cremated and a service will be held at a later date. She is to be buried with her parents at the Pine Mill Cemetery, Equinunk, PA.
Cremation arrangements were under the care of the Carmine J.& Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale, PA.
