Shirley A. DeMorrow, 74, formerly of the Carbondale, PA area, died Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, PA, following a short illness. She was the wife of the late Dale R. DeMorrow, who died January 6, 2001. Born May 22, 1947 in South Bend, IN, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mary K. Weese Sipress. She worked in the dietary department at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, but later was a secretary for the Cottage Hose Ambulance and the Carbondale Housing Authority prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Waymart Baptist Church, Waymart, PA. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was a talented painter. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a very warm and humble woman who gave and loved with all her heart. People who came in contact with her loved and adored her. She is survived by her daughter: Denise DeMorrow of Dunmore, PA; son: Darren DeMorrow of Scranton, PA; daughter: Kathy Loven and husband, Jim of Scranton, PA; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother Kenneth Sipress and wife, Mickey of St. Joseph, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Bradley DeMorrow; and a brother: Frederick Sipress. The funeral was held Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C.
