Sharon Elaine Kavetski, 74, of Gibson, PA, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on her birthday Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2016. She was the wife of the late Frank G. Kavetski, III. who died on March 17, 2012. Born February 18, 1942 in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace Brown. She was a member of the first graduating class of Mountain View High School in 1960 and was a very active member of the South Gibson United Methodist Church, South Gibson, PA. She was a very caring and loving person, who was loved by many. She enjoyed riding her ATV in search of wildlife, watching the deer in her backyard, and the birds at her birdfeeder. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. For many years, she enjoyed dressing in costume and getting in the spirit for Halloween. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Melanie Kavetski; grandson and girlfriend: Bradley Kavetski and Mindy York; great grandson: Bennett Kavetski; granddaughter and fiance: Shannon Kavetski and Nathan Decker; sister: Carol Robinson and husband Roger; brother: Larry Brown; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Martin Kavetski; sister: Pamela Herbert; brother-in-law: Ronald Kavetski; sister-in-law: Patricia Brown. A memorial service was held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the South Gibson United Methodist Church, 2839 State Route 2067, South Gibson, PA, with Pastor Marge McCarty, officiating. Inurnment, Harford Cemetery, Harford, PA. Friends called Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA and Monday, February 22, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were made to the South Gibson United Methodist Church.
