Samuel A. Shabel Gillott age 81, of 102 42ND Street, Carbondale, died peacefully at home Thursday morning, December 26, 2002, after a 12 year long battle with cancer. His wife is the former Grace Puma. They would have been married 56 years on Sunday December 29th.
Born May 22, 1921 in Carbondale, PA. He was the son of the late Angelo Big Shot and Rose (Pettinato) Gillott.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale. As a young boy, he worked with his father in the coal mines. He owned and operated G.G. Garments, Inc. in Carbondale for over 30 years.
After retirement, he enjoyed working with Joe Jacobino doing carpentry work. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed shopping, traveling, and going out to dinner with his wife. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be missed deeply by all knew him.

He is survived by two daughters: Judy Bebla and Angela Angel Masco both of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Carmella Guzzi of Carbondale, PA.; 4 Grandchildren; Several Nieces Nephews
He was preceded in death by one sister: Mamie Sadowski; one brother: Patrick Gillott
The funeral was held Monday, December 30, 2002 at 9:00 am from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with mass at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, con-celebrated by Rev. Russell Motsay, pastor and Rev. John Lapera, pastor of Church of St. Joseph, Minooka. Entombment, Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
Viewing was held Saturday, December 28, 2002 from 7-9 and Sunday, December 29, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9.
