Russell L. Piccotti, 76, of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at home following an illness. His wife is the former Clarita McNulty.
Born November 7, 1939 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Galliano and Caroline Collura Piccotti.
Russell was a 1957 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale and attended Villanova University for 2 years before starting Piccotti Corporation in Carbondale, along with his father. Over the years, Russell owned and operated Bondale Corporation and McNar Corporation, Schenectady, NY and had the privilege of working all over the United States alongside his son Russell. He was a member of the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania, was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.
Russell loved his hometown of Carbondale, his church, but most of all his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by a son: Russell D. Piccotti and wife Stacy of South Abington Township, PA; a daughter: Susan Corwin and husband Dean of Clarks Summit, PA; three grandchildren; Gavin Corwin and Anthony and Matthew Piccotti; four siblings: Marcella Drago and husband Anthony of Oneonta, NY, Louis Piccotti and wife Anne Marie of Boise, ID, Charlotte McAllister of Scotia, NY and Judy Narcavage and husband Robert of Scotia, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Carol Piccotti; one brother-in-law: George McAllister. The funeral was held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Andrew Kurovsky, assistant pastor and Deacon Edward Casey. Interment with military honors at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: George McAllister, Sam Collura, John McNulty, Mark Licata, Robert Narcavage, Sr. and Robert Narcavage, Jr. Friends called Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations were sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
