Russell M. "Rusty" Mang, 30, of Vandling, PA, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021. He is survived by his wife the former, Katie Piatkowski. They were married on September 7, 2019. Born May 1, 1990 in Scranton, PA, he is the son of Michael Mang of Carbondale, PA, and Robin Buchanan Stinnard and husband, Eric of Vandling, PA. Rusty was a 2008 graduate of Carbondale Area High School and was currently employed as a corrections officer at USP-Canaan. He had formerly worked for Adams Cable, Carbondale, and the Wayne County Prison. Rusty was an avid outdoorsman having enjoyed hunting and fishing. He looked forward to getting together with friends to play basketball and liked to cook. He had an outgoing personality and made everyone he met feel like they were his best friend. Rusty will be remembered for his kindness and generosity as he was always available to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his faithful dog, Molly. He is also survived by three sisters: Brittany Mang of Carbondale, PA, McKenzie Mang and companion, Jason Curley of Vandling, PA and Madison Mang and companion, Patrick Brennan of Carbondale, PA; his grandparents: Alice Mang of Carbondale, PA and Sheila and Thomas Hosie of Forest City, PA; a step sister: Aniesa Stinnard of Carbondale, PA; a step brother: Matthew Stinnard of Carbondale, PA; two nephews: Patrick Brennan and Joseph McAllister; a niece: Addyson Brennan; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his grandfather: Jack Mang; and a step brother: Frederick Stinnard. The funeral was held Thursday, February 11, 2021 from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. Kevin Miller, assistant pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Michael Gigliotti, James Gigliotti, Marco Gigliotti, Thomas Best, Raymond Sona, Christopher Rude, Michael Bucklaw, Patrick McGraw, Gavin Gravine and Brian Benedict.
