Tom VanVleck, 69, of Lenox Township, PA, died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. His wife is the former, Brenda Sanauskas.

Born March 21, 1955 in Binghamton, NY, he is the son of Drucilla Canfield Gerrells of Forest City, PA, and the late Roy VanVleck.

Tom was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School and was the owner operator of VanVleck Trucking for many years. He was a United States Army veteran.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music, old cars and riding his 4-wheeler. Tom had a wonderful sense of humor and a love for life. He truly was a friend to all and adored his family. His daughter Tomika was the love of his life. He enjoyed talking with all his friends from the Elk Diner and Nicholson Bowling Alley.

He is also survived by one daughter: Tomika Barney and husband, Dylan of Lenoxville, PA; one son: Shawn VanVleck and wife, Debbie of Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren: Tia, Paizley and Landyn Barney, Mallory Glessner, Samantha and Michael VanVleck, Celene and Izabel VanVleck, Victoria Milford and Timothy and Shayla VanVleck; several great grandchildren; two sisters: Kathy Stevens of Clifford Township, PA, and Connie Mittan and husband, Lee of Factoryville, PA; two brothers: Gary VanVleck of Brooklyn Township, PA, and Gordon VanVleck; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two girls that he treated as his own, Casey Mills and husband, Ted and Emily Streich and husband, Tyler and their children Raelyn, Hazel, Oliver and Kooper.

He was also preceded in death by two sons: Shane and Shannon VanVleck; a granddaughter: Shawna VanVleck and a grandson: Chance VanVleck.

The funeral was held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. from Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA, officiated by Rev. Bonnie Resseguie. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford, PA.

Pallbearers: Dylan Barney, John Barney, Gary VanVleck, Terry Sanauskas, Brian Sanauskas and Daniel Caruso.

Friends called Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
