Rosemary Perri, 77, of Carbondale, died Wednesday morning, February 12, 2014 at home. She was the wife of Anthony Perri who died on February 8, 1965. Born February 9, 1937 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Jennie Cassaro Rocco. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She had also been active with the ladies auxiliary of the former Carbondale General Hospital. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Cassaro's Dress Factory in Carbondale. She was a caring, generous and loving person who for 46 years provided a home to over 320 foster children. The family would like to thank the nurses from Compassionate Care Hospice as well as her nieces, Crystal and Jessica and nephew, John for their kindness and loving care provided to Rosemary. She is survived by six sons: Anthony Perri of Carbondale, PA, Carmine Perri and wife Jennifer of Greenfield Township, PA, James Perri and wife Patricia, Angelo Perri, Ronald Perri and wife Marlene all of Carbondale, PA and Jayson Perri of Wilkes Barre, PA; five daughters: Frances Booths and husband Russell of Waymart, PA, Amy Weber and husband Ken of Scranton, PA, Jessica, Britney and Angel Perri all of Carbondale, PA; one brother: Dominick Rocco and wife Antoinette of Throop, PA; two sisters: Mary Ann Coleman and husband James and Elaine Barchak all of Carbondale, PA; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Nicolina Pelick, Betty and Joann Rocco. The funeral was held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Jimmy Joe Perri, Carmine Perri, Frank Perri, Daniel Perri, Christopher Barchak, John Pellegrino, Jayson Russell and James Coleman. Friends called Friday, February 14, 2014 from 4-7 PM.
