Roseann Auditori, 73, formerly of Honesdale, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Green Ridge Care Center, Scranton, surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Joseph J. Auditori on November 26, 2017.
Born August 8, 1953 at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS, she was the daughter of the late Rosario "Russell" and Wilma Blackwell Scarpelli.
Roseann was raised in Blakely and was a member of the last graduating class of Marywood Seminary. She furthered her education at Marywood University receiving both her bachelor and master degrees in music education, an accomplishment she was extremely proud of throughout her life. For many years she and her husband resided in Honesdale where they raised their two daughters.
Roseann began her teaching career at Honesdale Catholic School and later taught music education at Narrowsburg Central School where she shared her love for music with students from kindergarten to twelfth grade. She went above and beyond as a teacher by taking her students to music festivals, Marywood’s Honors Band, and being a guest conductor for the Wayne Choraliers. After 25 years, she retired from teaching in New York from Sullivan West Central School District. During her time at SWCSD, she also served as treasurer for the teachers union for many years.
A gifted musician and vocalist, she treasured many memories of singing and performing with husband and his band, Joey J. and Company. Roseann also taught private music and voice lessons to numerous children and adults over the years. She and her husband enjoyed their many trips to the casino where Roseann could be found playing the slots. Of all her accomplishments in life nothing surpassed her role as mom and Nani. There are many memories her family will cherish of her.
She is survived by two daughters: Alissa Tiel and husband, Seth of Honesdale and JoAnn Blackledge and husband, Paul of Blakely; two grandchildren: John Joseph Blackledge and Molly Rose Blackledge; two sisters: Nancy Moelk and husband, Gary of Atlanta, GA and Angela Portocarrero and husband, Manuel of Colorado Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Christopher Scarpelli.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Green Ridge Health Care and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kind and compassionate care.
