Rose Wagner, 84, of Clarks Summit, PA. and formerly of RD Jermyn, PA., died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of the late Eugene Wagner who died December 27, 2003.
Born April 11, 1926 in Passaic, NJ., she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Mary (Fazio) Elmo.
She and her husband resided in Passaic, New Jersey until their retirement. Rose worked for 25 years as a cashier at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic. She attended the Church of St. Benedict, Newton, PA., and was a member of the Clarks Summit Senior Citizens Center and a former member of the Lenoxville Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and her many bus trips.
She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and caring sister. She will be greatly missed and thought of often by those who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Cruz and boyfriend Jim Nichols of Jermyn, PA. and Jeanie Sorrentino and husband Gerald of Brick, NJ.; one sister: Fannie Marchese of Cedar Grove, NJ.; one brother: Joseph Elmo of Seaside Park, NJ.; three granddaughters: Candice Haynes and husband Sam of Portsmouth, England, Corryn Cruz and fiance' Josh Barrell of Fleetwood, PA. and Nicole Sorrentino of Brick, NJ.; one grandson: Jeremy Sorrentino of Brick, NJ.; one great grandson: Hunter James Barrell; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Michael Elmo; two sisters: Angie Marchese and Grace Miller.
The funeral was held Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 5:00 PM from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, PA. Cremation followed at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
Friends called Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 1:00 PM until service time.
