Rose M. Rosemellia, 84, of Jermyn, PA, died Thursday evening, May 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Gerard N. Rosemellia, who died October 11, 2005. Born February 14, 1931 in Carbondale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Mary Cicio Vadala. Rose was a 1948 graduate of Mayfield High School and worked in various local dress factories for many years. She was a faithful member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, Jermyn and loved playing piano. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family and her home. Her love and devotion to her family will always be remembered and will be truly missed. The family wishes to thank Rose's granddaughter Brandi for her wonderful care to her grandmother. They would also like to thank the nurses at Home Health Hospice and Father Shane Kirby for their kindness and compassion to Rose during her illness. She is survived by one daughter: Gina Tolerico and husband Richard of Carbondale, PA; two sons: Patrick Rosemellia and wife Michelle of Mayfield, PA and Jerry Rosemellia of Jermyn, PA; five grandchildren: Marisa Ramirez, Michael Rosemellia, Brandi Rosemellia, Mark Tolerico and Jeremie Rosemellia; one sister: Mary Ann Rosemellia of Chittenango, NY; one brother: Joseph Vadala of Mayfield, PA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother: Patrick Vadala. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 622 Madison Avenue, Jermyn, celebrated by Rev. Marek Wasilewski, assistant pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield, PA. Pallbearers: Richard Tolerico, Mark Tolerico, Patrick Rosemellia, Jerry Rosemellia, Michael Rosemellia and Jeremie Rosemellia. Friends called Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Carbondale.
