Rose M. Molinaro, age 96, a lifelong resident of Carbondale,PA., died late Tuesday evening, May 7, 2013 at Commonwealth Hospice, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of the late Fortunato Duke Molinaro who died on January 25, 1957.
Born October 16, 1916 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Maria Teresa Scalzo Scalise.
Rose worked in the local garment industry for many years as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was known as Little Rosie to her bingo friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Carbondale Nursing Home, Commonwealth Hospice, Dr. Huffman and Dr. Haley for their wonderful care to Rose over the years.
She is survived by one daughter: Barbara Falbo of Carbondale, PA.; one grandson: John Beahan of Middletown, NY.; one granddaughter: Geralyn Zazzera of Clarks Summit, PA.; one great grandson: Christopher Greene of Carbondale, PA.; one sister: Pauline Cerminaro of Carbondale, PA.; one brother: John Tuggy Scalise of Carbondale, PA.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Anthony and Michael Scalise; four sisters: Mary Cianflone, Carmella Viney, Angela Galati and Carrie Fitzpatrick.
The funeral was held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook Street, Carbondale, celebrated by Rev. John C. O'Bell, associate pastor. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
Pallbearers: Christopher Greene, Patrick Cerminaro, James Cerminaro and Jerry Martines. Friends called Monday, May 13, 2013 from 5-8 PM.
