Rose Marie Caffrey, age 73, a lifetime resident of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday evening, December 24, 2009 at the Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. She was the wife of Clayton R. Caffrey for 55 years. Born November 16, 1936 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Nancy (Penzone) Grizzanti. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, PA and retired from Gentex Corporation, Simpson, PA. She was a member of .St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, PA., where she also taught CCD RCIA classes. She received an achievement award from Bishop James C. Timlin for her many years of dedication to teaching CCD classes. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by three daughters: Sharon McIntyre of Scranton, PA., Rose Ann Mensel of Nicholson, PA. and Joan Marie Pichusick of Carbondale, PA.; two sons: Michael J. Caffrey and James J. Caffrey, both of Carbondale, PA.; four brothers: Joseph Grizzanti of Crystal Lake, PA., Ralph, Samuel and James Grizzanti all of Carbondale, PA. ; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 10:30 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church Street, Carbondale, PA., with Msgr. David Tressler, pastor, officiating. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA. Pallbearers: Joseph, Ralph, Samuel and James Grizzanti, her brothers; Gerald Mensel and Andrew Pichusick, her son-in-laws. A private viewing for family was held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc. Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, PA.
