Rose M. Bossick, age 83, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, PA., died Thursday morning, July 22, 2010 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Her husband of 47 years is Jerome Bossick.
Born January 2, 1927 in Carbondale, PA., she was the daughter of the late William and Rosella (Cross) Boland.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale and the Carbondale Senior Citizens Center where she will be dearly missed by her many friends. She worked for 20 years as a waitress at various restaurants in Carbondale and loved dancing and decorating. She loved to fly and watching the airplanes taking off and landing at Bachman Lake Park, Dallas, TX. Her two grandsons, which she adored and loved, were her greatest joy in life.
She is survived by one daughter: Deborah Toms and fiance' Jaimie Marino of Irving, TX.; one son: Michael Bossick of Carbondale, PA.; two grandsons: Michael Bossick, Jr. and Austin Suchniack, both of Carbondale, PA.; three sisters: Eleanor Shumaker of Throop, PA., Elizabeth Kovaleski of Carbondale, PA. and Velda Lutchko of Carbondale, PA.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Judith Long.
The funeral was held Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with Margo Tomlinson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale, officiating. Cremation followed at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
Friends called Friday, July 23, 2010 from 4-8 PM.
