Rosanna Hernandez McGrantham, 44, of Carbondale, PA, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015. Her husband is Glen McGrantham. They were married on May 14, 2013. Born March 3, 1971 in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Benito Hernandez of Puerto Rico and Irma Vega Ennes of Brooklyn, NY. Rosie had been employed as a corrections officer at SCI, Waymart and was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was the most loving, caring and generous person any one could ever meet. Even in the worst situation Rosie always kept a positive attitude and could always see the best in everyone. She always lived by the motto that people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. She was a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother who gave love unconditionally and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three children: Cleopatra Skeen, Guillermo Alvares and Victor Lopez all of Scranton, PA; two grandchildren: Celenia Hull and Gary Skeen, III; two sisters: Judith Hernandez of Scranton, PA and Ana Yuisa Hernandez of Puerto Rico; three brothers: Benito Zirkel of Puerto Rico, Manuel Paffhausen of Germany and Edwin Hernandez of Missouri; several nieces and nephews. Rosie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carmen Olivera Vega, who raised her. The funeral was held Friday, May 22, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Farview and 41st Streets, Carbondale. Cremation followed and Rosie was buried with her grandmother in the Municipal Cemetery, Guanica, Puerto Rico.
