Obituary

Rosalie C. Scorzafava, age 72, of Childs, PA., died early Monday morning, July 9, 2007 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. She was the wife of Frank J. Buster Scorzafava. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary last year. Born July 4, 1935 in Moosic, PA., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Estella (Leba) Slusser. She was a member of S.S. Peter Paul Church in Avoca, PA. She was a graduate of Moosic High School and worked in the office for Woodlawn Dairy in Scranton for 10 years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother whose greatest accomplishment was the love and care she gave her family. Her wisdom and guidance she passed on to her children and grandchildren will be missed dearly by them. She is survived by one daughter: Mary Ann husband Louis, Jr. Gonsauls of Childs, PA.; one son: Frank Scorzafava of Childs, PA.; two brothers: Joseph Slussar of Moosic, PA. and Charles Slussar of New Jersey; three grandsons: Louis, III., Justin Cody Gonsauls, all of Childs, PA.; Several Nieces Nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Alexander Slussear and John Slusser; one nephew: Joseph Slussar. The funeral was held Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 9:00 AM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in S.S. Peter Paul Church, Main Street, Avoca, celebrated by the Rev. Mark Bochinski, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Moosic. Friends called Wednesday, July 11, 2007 from 2-4 7-9 PM. Pallbearers: 3 Grandsons-Louis, III., Justin and Cody Gonsauls, James Scorzafava, Glen Arthur, John Kirn and Anthony Elovar.
