Rosa Lydia Oakley, 92, of Clifford Township, PA, died Saturday evening, December 14, 2013 at the Celtic Hospice, Dunmore, PA. She was the wife of Clifton Milo Oakley. They were married for 60 years.
Born January 17, 1921 in Catano, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Montero Campos and Virginia Echeandia.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for over 10 years in the house keeping department at the former Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA. She also previously worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory in Forest City, PA and for Tioga Trailer Company, Carbondale. Rosa was the heart of her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by six sons: Clifton Oakley of Clifford Township, PA, Donald Oakley of North Port, FL, Nester Morales of Kingsley, PA, Joseph Marquez of Clifford Township, PA, Robert Marquez of Nicholson, PA, and Edward Marquez of Clifford Township, PA; several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Eileen Virginia Morales.
As per her request, she was cremated and no services were held.
Cremation arrangements were under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
