Ronna-Gae Calachino, 77, of Blakely, PA, died Friday morning, July 12, 2024 surrounded by her family after a battle with cancer at the home of her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Philip D. Calachino, Jr. on December 7, 2022.

Born November 26, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Theresa Seegener Thompson. Ronna-Gae was raised in Carbondale, PA, and was a 1964 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She was a talented interior decorator and operated her own business, Home Interiors and Gifts. She later worked for over 20 years at Gertrude Hawk Chocolates in Dunmore, PA, before retiring. Over the years, Ronna-Gae enjoyed making ceramics, tending to her flower garden and participating in bowling leagues. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She was a proud grandmother and their biggest cheerleader at their activities.

She is survived by four children: Cheryl Calachino of Dickson City, PA, Philip D. Calachino, III. and wife, Nancy of Scott Township, PA, Michael A. Calachino and wife, Kathy of Scott Township, PA and Timothy D. Calachino and wife, Sarah of St. Augustine, FL; seven grandchildren: Michael, Amanda and fiancé, Dominic, Philip IV., Marissa, Samantha, Molly and Emily; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Ronald Thompson, Edward Thompson, Stanley "Chuck" Thompson and Albert "Buddy" Pittaway; and four sisters: Louise Engle, Charlotte Larson, Naomi Judge, and Evelynn "Terri" Deren.

The funeral was held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. from Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street, Carbondale, PA, with Rev. Seth Wasnock, pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, officiating. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale, PA.

Pallbearers: Philip Calachino, III., Michael Calachino, Timothy Calachino, Cheryl Calachino, Philip Calachino, IV. and Dominic DeAntonio.

Viewing hours were held Monday, July 15, 2024 from 4-7 p.m.
