Ronald F. Starkey, 55, of Greenfield Township, PA., died unexpectedly Friday evening, June 30, 2006 at the Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, PA.
His wife of 21 years is the former Ann Morris.
Born December 7, 1950 in Scranton, PA., he was the son of the late Willard and Claire (McLean) Starkey.
Ron attended Scranton Schools and was employed by WEA and also part time at the Carbondale YMCA.
In his youth, he excelled in baseball. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandson whom he loved very much. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the family.
He is survived by two daughters: Lisa and Diane Starkey, both at home; one grandson: Jayden Ronald Starkey Cost; one Brother; two Sisters; two Brother-in-Laws; two Sister-in-Laws; his Mother-in-Law; Several Nieces, Nephews Cousins
He was preceded in death by his twin brother: Robert Starkey, whom he was deeply attached to and visited often before he passed away. Now they are together again perhaps playing ball in Heaven.
A memorial service was held Wednesday evening, July 5, 2006 at 7:30 PM from the Carmine J. Louis C. Parise Funeral Home, Inc., Farview 41st Streets, Carbondale, with the Rev. Barry Jaggars, pastor of the New Life Assembly of God Church, Carbondale, officiating.
Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
Friends called Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 6:00-7:30 PM.
