Ronald P. Kavetski, Sr., 62, of Kingsley, PA., died unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 8, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton, PA. Born June 27, 1947 in Carbondale, PA., he was the son of the late Frank, Sr. and Helen (Sudlesky) Kavetski.He was a self employed contractor for 40 years and was of the Catholic faith. He was an avid hunter and woodworker who was a great father, companion and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his dog Peggy Sue.He is survived by two daughters: Sheila Kavetski of Binghamton, NY. and Beth Pather of Baker, MT.; one son: Ronald P. Kavetski, Jr. and wife Deanne of Kingsley, PA.; one step son: Steven Swift and wife Sue of Factoryville, PA.; one step daughter: Wendy Mayers and husband Steve of Nicholson, PA.; one sister: Patricia Brown and husband Larry of Harford, PA.; one brother: Frank Kavetski, III. and wife Sharon of Susquehanna, PA.; 21 grandchildren including a special granddaughter: Kayley; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews; his companion of 13 years: Helen Hanf and her children Jason Cameron and wife Tanya of Kingsley, PA. and Jennifer Jones and husband David of Ontario, NY.He was preceded in death by one daughter: Kelly JonesA public memorial service was held Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 PM at the Elk Mountain Post 8488, Lenox, PA. Cremation took place at the Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.
